Costs and Payments

Are the costs justified by the benefits to the operator and their players?

SBG is all about linking players and to make game content available at the player’s fingertips following player’s demographics, time and location whilst giving the operators total control of problem gaming. These are true values that easily justify a business case in itself. However we need to understand that we are very early in the adoption phase of such technology and not every operator understands yet where these values can be identified. We at ACE Interactive have a sophisticated client expertise program in place in which we help our clients positioning themselves in the context of SBG and how SBG can boost their operations and profitability in a sustained manner.

How will games creators be paid for their games in a downloadable environment?

“In a SBG environment where game content is available ‘on line’ then ideally both content providers and operators would want to operate in a ‘pay for play’ environment. This means that the content provider gets paid if the game is played. Good content providers will have worthwhile cash streams that encourage them to develop quality games that players want to play, whilst poor content providers are encouraged to improve.”

Since swapping of games is easier, will time on device or flat rate fees/revenue share be used to fund games development?

“Very good question. You stress the point that True Server Based Gaming might need different approaches, different business models but at this stage, it is too premature to say. What is required from a solutions provider like ACE Interactive though is to a) stay flexible with business terms to completely meet the needs of it clients b) be ready to adopt new ideas. At ACE Interactive we have the skill-set and fresh thinking to support these approaches.”

Are the costs of a new solution going to be justified in the short-term or is this a long-term investment?

“SBG is very much a long-term investment.”
